A swimming pool is a big investment and like any investment, it's important that you take care of it so that you get the most for your money. We are dedicated to quality, and we want to help you take care of it! One of the simplest things you can do to protect your investment is to make sure that you always have the right amount of water in your pool.
Why is the Water Level so Important?
The pool water level is very important to keep track of for two reasons: if the water is too high, surface debris cannot enter the skimmer; if the water is too low, the lack of water can possibly burn up your pool pump. For these reasons it is extremely important to check your water level once a week.
Most swimming pools have overflow protection installed, so a high water level is less of a concern for the majority of swimming pool owners. Although, a low water level is something to always be aware of. What are the factors that contribute to low water? A swimming pool that is located in an area of high wind, the soaring heat of the summer months, and water features in your pool are the biggest contributing factors to a low water level.
What is the Correct Water Level?
How do I know what the correct water level is for my pool? Locate the tile just under the swimming pool coping. The water level should come to the middle of the tile. If your water is low, fill up to the desired level with a garden hose.
